April 19, 2007
Wow, so it's been quite awhile since I've posted anything to my websites. I started posting some pics from the past few weeks, so check them out: www.amlewis2003.blogspot.com.
Let's see...it's April...mid-April, actually. Most of you know it's birthday month in my family! Catie and Chris turned 23 on April 10, my mom had her birthday April 15, and I turned 27 on April 16. Meredith's birthday is April 29, and she'll be 29! Man we're getting old!
Catie was in town Easter weekend, so my mom decided to take us all out for a birthday dinner. We went to Red Robin. Something crazy was going on across the street. A guy was in his Jeep sitting in the Office Depot parking lot threatening to commit suicide! New Garden Rd. was blocked, and we were advised to stay in the restaurant. We were told there was a hostage situation. I later read it was a suicide attempt. Everything turned out ok, though.
We spent Easter with my mom and celebrated Becky's birthday. It was so cold on Easter! This weather has been so crazy lately. It was cold today, and it's supposed to be warm tomorrow. Go figure!
Last weekend Miranda and Matt came to visit! Miranda is 6 1/2 months pregnant and cuter than ever. They haven't been to see me since my wedding, which was nearly four years ago. Adam and I spent a lot of time cleaning the apartment. I hope it doesn't all go back to crap. I was a little nervous about the cat. They're both allergic to cats, but I think I'm the one who had the worst allergies. Unfortunately, Miranda and Matt were only here for a day (Saturday). We were busy the whole day. For lunch we went to Mimi's Cafe with mom and Meredith. Afterwards, we went to my dad's, and they met Jasmine. Jasmine had a cold, though, so she wasn't her usual bubbly self. For dinner we went to Leblon (a Brazilian restaurant) for my birthday dinner. It was really good, and I highly recommend it. They left Sunday morning for Durham to see Miranda's brother and his family. I haven't heard from them since then, but I'm sure they made it back to Ohio safely on Monday.
Sunday I arrived late to church and had to sub in the nursery. Every kid in there is in diapers! Luckily none of them had to be changed. I'm glad I was able to sub, but I'm really glad I'll be back in grown-up world next week. Since it was my mom's birthday, Adam and I cooked dinner for her that night. For dessert we had my birthday cake from Coldstone Creamery: Peanut Butter Playground. Mmmm!! We watched "The Shaggy Dog" with Tim Allen. It was pretty cute.
Monday was my birthday. We really didn't do anything special since Adam had school that evening. He did come home early, though, so I could open my presents before he went to work. He got me this great storage bench for the foot our bed. I love it!
Work is a little stressful right now. Since April 9, our company is now owned by SCI (Service Corporation International), and we've been learning lots of new things. All employees have to take online classes at Dignity University, and that's kind of stressing everyone out (especially the older part-time employees). I'm on schedule, though, so it's all good. Since Monday I've been a little sick. I went home early from work on Tuesday and came late both Wednesday and Thursday. I feel much better, though. I think I'll have a normal day at work tomorrow. Thank goodness it's Friday, and the weekend is going to be beautiful!
Oh yeah, Adam started working at the new Harris Teeter this morning. He'll be working during the day for the next two weeks, so he'll be home everynight. Ah, a little taste of our future!
Have a great weekend!
